Teaching design for change

A wonderful TED Talk by Emily Pilloton about teaching design for change.

Thankful

24 Nov

I am fortunate. I experience many wonderful days of being an educator—days that are filled with just as many moments of learning as they are filled with moments of teaching. Yesterday was especially rewarding. The day was packed with meaningful discussions about web accessibility and “doing good.” As a class, we celebrated successes and worked on a collaborative project for a real client. We also had a potential new student visit our class and went on a field trip to a local print and visual solutions company. Even though it was a busy day, I left school and returned home energetic and excited about the day. It was nice to see that I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the day. These are some tweets from other people about their experiences.

Just dropped in on @jenseninman's web media 1 class, and it could be the coolest thing ever. Thanks to @jenseninman and the #utcart students for taking the time to tour @williamsvisual today.Thankful for teachers who inspire, classmates who encourage and studying something I love! Great class day to start my Thanksgiving break!
